Cabin time

A trip to the cabin wouldn't be right - when you can't find these 2 and they are out of sight....find the chips!

Moving cows

Every year we tag along (the kids and I at least) and enjoy it when Grumps (and Chas) take the cows to the hills.  My kids love it and so do I - what a neat yearly event that they can look back on years from now.  We linger behind and help bring the lunch for all the hard working souls and then get to sit back and enjoy the day.

Wowser....right?

Easter and my kids...

Here are the two most precious things in my world - I just love them so much and can't imagine my world without them.  What did we do before we had kids?  How special they make everything, especially the holidays.  It's so fun (most the time) to see them interact with each other.  When I was pregnant with Kamryn I often wondered what I was doing to my little boy's world - and how could I possibly love anyone anywhere close to how I feel for him!? Well, it's simple, and God takes care of all of it for us.  They are so close - he loves to have someone to play with, and most the time tease, pick on and make scream....ahhhh and she!  She loves and adores him, and follows him everywhere...and copies everything he does - and sometimes pinches him and hits him, and screams.  But honestly, how could these two be anything other than just plain cute and angelic?  I mean, look at them...

Wouldn't you agree?  Just plain angelic?  ;o)

Back to Blogging...

I tell myself I will catch up - maybe do a post here and there and get it done....yep, still waiting for that to happen.  It seems like I 'need to be in the right mood' to update - 'it takes too much time.'  Well, here's another try!  Geesh...I am going to go back in time - just to keep track of 'stuff.'  :0)

Birthday Boy...a few months late

It happened....my baby boy turned 5! It only sounds crazy when it's your kid right? I am just now sure where the years 3, 4, and now 5 have gone! He's still that cute 2 year old to me! Still cute, just now 5....ok, ok, enough I know. Here is his new present. We thought it would take him a while to get it down (because it's quite a bit bigger and much heavier than his older one....) but he took off right away.
He was just dying to have an ice cream cake this year so we gave in - I had to really twist his dad's arms for this one!
He wanted to have a few buddies over for his birthday so we had our first group sleepover. These boys had such a good time - so much playing!
mmmm....that ice cream cake is sure yummy!

Spending Time at the Cabin - Rewind

Time spent at the cabin...

Old News but still Good News

This story is a bit old, but I was looking through pictures and found these and they just make me smile. I was in 'the zone' of cleaning. You know how it goes....all week things around the house just glare at you because they need done, but you somehow don't make it around to doing them? Well, come hell or high water I was gonna get it all done this particular day. Kamryn was napping and Brayden was playing. I was cleaning that toilet of mine when Brayden came to me and said 'Mom, I need a really cute shirt to go with this skirt.' So, I go get him a really cute shirt to go with the skirt and continue on my way. Then I hear him yell "Hey, mom guess what? We're gonna get married today!' Well, I decide that maybe that sounds like something I should go check out - He is in his room getting his nice clothes on and has my outfit laid out for me. I immediately decide that cleaning can wait - I went on a date! He picked me up in his car (the bed) and we drove to the living room. We took pictures and then we danced and then....I got me a smoocher! What a charmer. One of my absolute favorite moments with this kid!

Spring Break and then some

Spring Break was great this year. These two kids of mine are actually learning to do more than just fight - they actually enjoy and play with each other! Okay, yup, there is still a lot of fighting but it's so cool to see them playing together. You can tell that Brayden is so happy to have someone to play with (most of the time) and Kamryn thinks she is so cool because she's a big kid now, you know.

We kept pretty busy. From the park (before this lovely wind started...), to the wildlife refuge to see the cranes, to painting....it was fun. Here are the two partners in crime with their favorite - bbq chips.

Visit to see Addie...

We were able to go see our new little niece - Ms. Addie Knight. She is so cute - and so mellow. In Kami's words "Yah, she's pretty cool.." we couldn't agree more! Kamryn just wanted to kiss on her and Brayden couldn't get enough of holding her.

That Dreaded Moment!

Well it happened - I was expecting it but not so soon! I was pleasantly working in my kitchen, thinking 'wow, those kids are playing so well together today....' when Brayden came to tell me that 'I just HAVE to come see this! Kamryn's hair is just flying onto the ground!' Not freaking out, I went to see this - because he does have quite the imagination you know. Well, when I walked into his room I saw hair everywhere! All over the table, the chair, the floor and two kids just all grins! AUGHHHHHHHHH! I freaked out! OMG!!! Poor Brayden did not need any discipline because he just started bawling after seeing my reaction....Oh well - all in all it turned out that I had been debating about giving Kamryn her first haircut and maybe now was the time. She has curls in the back, so thankfully you can't even tell but this is what it looked like before the 'real' first haircut:

My Little Wrestler...

Here he is...the cutest wrestler ever (if there is such a thing I found it). I cannot begin to tell you about the pride I feel for this kid of mine. For those of you who know Brayden and the journey we have been on this last year, I think we have found something he likes and that grooves with his personality and his energy...needless to say, we will NOT be trying soccer again this year. I have always respected the sport of wrestling - it is a very tough individual sport - but honestly have never truly understood why they want to do that! Well, I get it now...seeing that raw 'boy' energy at work in a constructive way can be pretty darn cool. Here he is at the Alamosa tournament showing off his 3rd place medal.
Here is a video too - right after the match, this little boy came up to Brayden and said "I think you and I should be buddies" - it was pretty cute!.
